Might there be something wrong with the website?
I am no sure why but now I’m getting the follow error:
500 The call failed on the server; see server log for details
I think some changes were made in the background, because the error has disappeared. Yesterday I still had the 500-error but could afterwards continu to the user interface. Seems that I don’t have an excuse any longer to try OR out.
I have the 500 error in the pro
I can continue to the application but any imports don’t work and any changes I make won’t save.
I am trying to figure out of this is an issue that is impacting all users and has a single fix or if this is on a user by user basis that they are fixed one at a time
I can’t seem to get an answer from OR on this or a timeline to resolve …
I'm not part of the core team, so I can't give a definite answer...
But...
So once it happens, there is nothing you (an end user) can do to 'fix it'.
The only thing to do is contact the support team and ask them to unlock your account.
I'll go out on a limb here and risk speaking out of turn...
I don't think the team expected quite such a rush of users to suddenly take up the Pro (previously paid for) designer.
Which has lead to a MASSIVE increase in their work load.
With the sting being that they have to do more work, for many more people, for the same money that they used to (just) survive on.
I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.
Personally, I think they are doing a brilliant job of chasing the inevitable bugs that a huge change like this brings, on top of all of the other amazing things that I know are going on in the background.
Thanks Stuart and TBH I think it's a great product. I'd have paid for the pro version (as an individual) if they hadn't made it free as I think it's well worth it. additionally I thinki'm only starting to scratch the surface as to whats possible with OR so that is certainly exciting as well. I certainly appreciate the business aspect as well and have many years experience of supporting solutions so understand that pain as well. They did create the forum to communicate to all users through and tbh a quick note to all of us experiencing the 500 errors so ' give us a few days, weeks, or whatever" would help a lot in managing the stampede of enthusiastic users
I'm trying to figure out if I should stop and wait for them to unlock when they get a chance or continue and import what I have completed when it's unlocked. Since I got the pro controller running on my synology DS415Play its really starting to come together. I might be shooting myself in the foot here but as i'm creating this just for myself a few weeks here or there isn't really an issue.. its all learning and a good bit of fun for me.
